Career: Ms Chirelle Ellul Sciberras joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 2011 following a national examination to enter the diplomatic service and was assigned in the European Affairs Directorate responsible for the relations between Malta and the Western Balkans. In August 2013, she was posted as Consul at the Malta High Commission in London. During her tenure in London, she was responsible for various consular matters including the Maltese diaspora and Maltese patients travelling to the UK for treatment. Ms Ellul Sciberras was also responsible for the coordination of visas for numerous participants attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in 2015 and formed part of the Consular Corps in London whereby she assisted in the discussions on the effects of BREXIT on EU nationals. In 2017, she returned to Malta and covered International Development issues within the International Development, Economic Affairs and European Institutions Directorate. In 2019, Ms Ellul Sciberras was promoted to a grade of Counsellor within the Diplomatic Corps and carried on working within the same directorate.

Ms Ellul Sciberras has been appointed as a career Consul General in Melbourne with jurisdiction over the state of Victoria. She commenced this post as from 1 May 2021.

Education: Born on 3 March 1988, Ms Chirelle Ellul Sciberras graduated from the University of Malta as Bachelors (Hons.) in European Studies in 2009. She then furthered her studies in a post grad degree and graduated with a Master of Arts in Diplomatic Studies from the Mediterranean Academy of Diplomatic Studies at the University of Malta a year later in 2010.

Personal: Ms Chirelle Ellul Sciberras is fluent in Maltese, English, Italian and French. She enjoys boating, travelling and reading. She is married to Allan Ellul and they have a daughter, Martina.
