Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Malta and the Republic of Türkiye were established in 1967, shortly after Malta’s independence. Bilateral relations have slowly but surely developed over the years. Malta opened its Consulate General in Istanbul in 2009 whilst Türkiye opened its Embassy in Malta in the same year. The appointment of a resident Ambassador in Ankara in 2017 coincides with the fiftieth anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The Malta Embassy in Ankara endeavours to strengthen bilateral relations in various areas and aims to build on the good work that has already been achieved and, hence, to take the ties between Malta and Türkiye to a higher level.
The Embassy, together with its Consulate-General in Istanbul, is committed to providing a variety of services in an efficient manner and invites you to visit this portal to help you explore Malta’s potential as an investment location, ideal for doing business and as a tourist attraction with a distinctive character and culture.
