Notice on Consular Services
The Embassy informs the public that due to the recent COVID-19 outbreaks in Beijing and in line with local prevention and control measures, the Embassy will operate on a skeleton staff until further notice. Efforts are underway to resume normal operations in line with the pertinent requirements.
Appointments for Consular Services are considered for urgent matters by appointment.
Visa services have resumed in Malta Visa Application Centres in China and the Philippines. Some Visa Application Centres in China may however still be impacted by temporary suspension depending on the location. Applicants lodging applications directly in one of Malta’s Visa Application Centres in China or the Philippines may refer to specific notices on our operations published on the dedicated Malta website of our External Service Provider:

Effective 30 May 2022, the mission has started accepting postal applications for visa and consular services subject that approval has been received by the pertinent authorities.
All applications sent by international mail to China, including applications submitted through VFS Philippines are subject to ten working days of quarantine prior to transmission to the Embassy. These delays are beyond the Embassy’s control.
Applicants lodging postal visa applications are to ensure that their application is posted at least one month prior to the tentative travel date. Longer periods may apply depending on type of courier/post selected. Applicants lodging their visa application at one of the Malta Visa Applications in the Philippines are to ensure that the application is lodged at least a month prior to the tentative travel date.
